Cassandra Bolding is currently serving in her eighth year as a professional school counselor with Atlanta Public Schools. As a graduate of Atlanta Public Schools, she is especially proud to return to the place where she received her very own educational foundation. In 2011, she received the Counselor of the Year Award and notes this as one of the many highlights in her career. Bolding has more than 12 years of volunteer and work experience with youth populations. Prior to her work as a school counselor, she worked as a family consultant with the Division of Family and Children Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Bolding then served as executive director of a local non-profit organization focused on academic, personal/social, and career support for at-risk youth. Bolding earned a bachelor’s in sociology from Mercer University and Georgia State University and a master’s degree and specialist degree in counseling and educational psychology from the University of West Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and fine dining with her husband and two young daughters.
